Lagos in Portugal will yet again be adding another page to the history books as the skeleton of a Roman woman was found.
According to archaeologists, the skeleton of the woman happened to be around 2000 years old. The skeleton was dug up in Lagos’ historic centre.
It is estimated by the archaeologists that the woman could have been around 30 or 40 years of age at the time of her death.
Council archaeologists carried out a dig while taking advantage of road works when they had found her in Rua da Oliveira.
This is the second skeleton to be found in the city in less than a decade and it is believed that the area was an old Roman cemetery.
