Portugal’s communications watchdog, ANACOM, said this week that the number of Portuguese people aged 16 to 74 who have never used the Internet fell from 32 percent in 2014 to 28 percent last year, yet still almost a third of the population has never gone online.
ANACOM acknowledged Portugal remains some way off the European average of non-users of 16 percent.
The figures show that the distance from the European average is even more evident among older people. The level of schooling also influences the use of the Internet.
