Vasco da Gama continue to struggle in the National First Division after going down 1-0 at home to AmaZulu on Sunday afternoon.
Vasco are now just one point away from the relegation zone. The Cape side have only posted one win in 2016 and have a worse goal difference than Warriors and Mthatha Bucks who are 14th and 15th respectively.
Zaid Patel scored the only goal of the match for Usuthu with the supply coming from Siyabonga Nomvethe. It was the first win in four outings for AmaZulu who complete a season double over Vasco as they move into 7th spot.
Round 21 of the 2015/16 National First Division also saw a goalless draw between Santos and Mbombela United on Friday, while Thanda Royal Zulu claimed a narrow 1-0 home win against Cape Town All Stars.
On Sunday, Milano United beat Moroka Swallows 2-1 away from home.
Round 22 of the NFD will be held on the weekend of 12-13 March, with the league taking a week’s break for the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup which kicks off later this week.
