The yearly Amigos festival was once again held on the 4th December at the Portuguese club and yet again they did not disappoint.
There was live music supplied by Kanimambo and the Black Box. Loads of delicious food ranging from Prego rolls, Tuna rolls, Chicken rolls, Bolo do Caco, Calamari, Chips, Milo Frito, Malasadas and let’s not forget the all important Meat Espetadas which were done on the already famous Amigos portable espetada braai.
This year there was even a fully fledged restaurant on offer. We had our very own Poncha bar which was an incredible hit even with Father Christmas who made a special stop to go and have a refreshing glass of this deliciously refreshing drink. The traditional bar was very well supported and all the guests were not left wanting.
All the children, young and old, were all excited to see the arrival of Father Christmas on his Harley and inside the hall they were all entertained and then over 200 children were given gifts which were supplied and paid for by the Amigos. This year there were loads of guests from near and far including a group of very special VIP’s. Every year this festival grows from strength to strength and more and more people are having stalls with their various wares on sale and there was even a mini merry-go-round for the little ones.
