Andreia Pinto-Correia has waved the Portuguese flag quite high as she has been awarded the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation’ 2015 Fellowship. This is one of the most prestigious in the United States of America.
This award acknowledges individuals who have achieved great things in their field and span over a broad spectrum of categories such as creative arts, social sciences, humanities and natural sciences.
This was the awards 91st edition since it was established in 1925 and awarded 173 fellowships to 175 scholars. The successful candidates were selected from 3100 applicants.
Andreia is originally from Lisbon and has received her Masters and Doctorate degree with academic honours from the New England Conservatory of Music.
