Atlantic Beach blows the Redskins away

It was the second last outing for the year and Atlantic Beach Golf Club hosted the Redskins golfers in partnership with a strong South Easterly wind.

The course was in excellent condition with the greens being very fast and slick. The Redskins golfers were in for a gardening delight as many of them found their drives in the local Fynbos and shrubbery. The competition for the day was Singles Stableford with 28 members completing the field. The Order of Merit remains still very close and the results for the day showed the fierceness of the competition.

Winner for the day was Roger Bigaignon (35 points), second place was Paulo Das Neves (34 points count out) and in third place Miguel Paiva (34 points). The longest drive went to Marc De Freitas and the four nearest to the pins winners were, Luis Paulo, Manuel Branco, Gus Rafael and Andre Petim.

Richard Camara, Chairman, thanked the course for hosting the players and commended everyone on a well spirited day. Looking out from the clubhouse, the players were treated to a view of the beautiful fairways and Table Mountain, divided by the Atlantic Ocean with the sunset as a backdrop showing off all its grace and splendour.

The Redskins Golf Social Club of Cape Town hosts their final outing for the year at Erinvale Golf Club which will be played on Sunday, 6th December.
