A plan of action is to be taken to popularise the Portuguese wine, Port.
According to the Institute of Douro and Port Wines, the importation of Port wine has taken a downward turn in the UK. There happen to be a few factors for the wine declining by a fall of 10 percent. For starters, the price of Port wine has increased by four percent. Another factor is that it is believed the British associate the wine with an older generation.
“We must find a way to balance the traditional with the modern. To use an English term, we need to bring port wine back into ‘fashion,” said Manuel Novaes de Cabral.
Manuel believes that the wine should be promoted to people who do not find the wine appealing and not just wine experts.
