Cholera affects Mozambique

Mozambique affected by Cholera

Recently, people were affected by the beach waters of Cape Town. Now, people of Mozambique are suffering from a Cholera outbreak.

This outbreak has already claimed the lives of 19 individuals. According to the Mozambican government, it has raised the death toll and has become one of the worst disasters to hit Southern Africa.

Earlier this year, Mozambique was hit by a tremendous flood caused by heavy rains. This tragedy saw 158 lives succumb to it. These rains have also affected Malawi, Zimbabwe and Madagascar.

Mouzinho Saide, the deputy minister of health claimed that even though some of the flooded rivers have subsided, it has still left 177 000 people affected.
