Thought that the only place to find ancient Roman ruins are in Rome? Think again.
Yes, Rome probably has the most important ones, such as the Coliseum, the Roman Forum and Forum of Caesar but little did you know that some Roman ruins can be found in Portugal.
That’s right, in the ancient city of Conímbriga, the area is filled with Roman ruins that are in great condition, despite being exposed to the elements. Believe it or not, there are still about several rooms which have been standing intact for 2000 years.
One of the most attractive things about these ruins are the intricate patterns on the mosaic floor which still maintains its bright colours.
So, if you are in the city, why not make a turn by these ruins, you won’t be sorry.
