Not all street art is appreciated by people, but now and then, you find an artist who is so exceptional, you just have to stop and stare.
Diogo Machado, just so happens to be one of those exceptions. What sets him apart is that he embraces his Portuguese culture by making use of the traditional tiling techniques called Azulejo. He also makes use of the traditional blue colour that is used on these tiles. He then proceeds to draw intricate patterns on them.
When he is not making use of real tiles he is physically drawing them on walls. He makes use of a technique called Tromp l’oeil to give the tiles a 3D effect as opposed to making them two dimensional.
