Many of us like to build muscle in the gym, and for that, we often make use of supplements such as protein shakes and creatine.
There has been a rumour going around that creatine can be harmful to your kidneys. This has left a lot of gym goers, who are anxious on picking up a little muscle, confused.
Well, a study done in Brazil took up the challenge to see if this was truth or a myth. The test was done on 18 males, 9 who took creatine and the other 9 who just took a placebo. The test then proved that the men who took the creatine were able to outperform the men who took the placebo. Also, the men who took creatine, had lower Cystatin C levels, meaning that their kidneys were able to function better.
This is because, creatine is something natural, it is found in meat and our own bodies produce it. The only reason why people take creatine is to gain muscle growth and increase their stamina and energy levels.
So, there you have it, myth busted.
