It is one thing to create a world record and equally as good to break a world record but to break your own world record is something phenomenal.
Portuguese kite surfer, Francisco Lufinha, did just that this past week as he beat his old world record of an uninterrupted kite surf. His journey started on Sunday in Lisbon and ended on Tuesday in Madeira. His original plan was to kite surf to Madeira but due to his “extreme fatigue” carried out the rest of his journey by boat.
The 31-year-old set a previous record of 564 kilometres without any interruptions. This time Francisco was not holding back and went on to cover 874 kilometres, beating his old record by more than 300 kilometres.
