George Mendes, who is 42 years-old from Connecticut, has opened up his new restaurant in New York.
What makes this restaurant special is that it touches on his Portuguese roots as it is fashioned in a traditional cervejaria style.
“For me, this restaurant was a natural progression. It came from a desire that grew in the last few years, to get closer to the food that I grew up with.”
Mendes recalls lunches with his family that would last up till dinner time.
The walls are decorated with the blue and white traditional tiles and is meant to be a place where one can feast on simple meals such as grilled meat, beer and seafood.
