Vasco da Gama returned to winning ways with a 1-0 home victory against KZN side Thanda Royal Zulu in the National First Division over the weekend.
The Mother City side took advantage of the wet and windy conditions at Parow Park and veteran striker Jonathan Armogam got the goal that made all the difference, volleying home from a cross by Mbulelo Wambi on the half hour mark.
The result sees Vasco in 10th position on the table while Thanda are in position 13. It was Vasco’s first win of the season after three draws and a loss.
Meanwhile at the top of the NFD table, Baroka FC leapfrogged Cape Town All Stars to end the weekend as NFD leaders following their 2-0 win away to Mthatha Bucks on Sunday.
On Saturday (3 October) Vasco are at home to city rivals FC Cape Town at 15h30.
