How to make Salmon Ceviche

Tomorrow is Good Friday and in that spirit, many Christians would have made their pickled fish to commemorate the day. In keeping to a fish dish, here is something quick to make before taking on the main course. Here is a recipe for Salmon Ceviche. This effortless snack will have you serving people in no time and can be introduced as a starter or canapé.

You will need:

  • 200g cubed Salmon or trout
  • 1 sliced red chilli
  • 1 finely chopped shallot
  • 1 tsp (5ml) sesame oil
  • dash of fish sauce
  • juice and zest of four limes
  • 2 tbsp chopped dill


Mix all the ingredients together and chill for 20 minutes in the fridge. Add the dill and serve with flat cracker breads. If you are wondering what wine to pair with this dish, why not try a bottle of Chenin Blanc.
