So, you all must have heard by now that Jeremy Clarkson from BBC’s Top Gear has been given the boot after almost 25 years of service.
We were all sitting on the edge of our seats, awaiting the results after Clarkson physically and verbally assaulted a member of the Top Gear crew, producer, Oisin Tymon.
Now, if you remember correctly, Clarkson’s contract was up for renewal and the BBC had the tough decision of either renewing it or letting the motor mouth journalist go.
Tony Hall, director general of the BBC had the following to say regarding Clarkson’s dismissel, “It is with great regret that I have told Jeremy Clarkson today that the BBC will not be renewing his contract.
It is not a decision I have taken lightly. I have done so only after a very careful consideration of the facts and after personally meeting both Jeremy and Oisin Tymon.
Given the obvious and very genuine public interest in this I am publishing the findings of his report. I take no pleasure in doing so. I am only making them public so people can better understand the background. I know how popular the programme is and I also know that this decision will divide opinion. The main facts are not disputed by those involved.”
It will be hard to adjust to watching Top Gear without Clarkson as I am sure we all agree, he was what made the show.
Clarkson is not the only person leaving his crew. In other news Zayn Malik from the boy band, One Direction has decided to leave the group, shortly before they hit South Africa today. Below is a 60 second clip of some distraught fans.
