The prestigious annual King and Queen of the Sea was held at the Portuguese Club in Cape Town on the 1st August.
The theme for this glamorous even was Alice in Wonderland. Attendance was near capacity with 320 guests wandering who the crown would go to. The show was magnificently organised by Leandro Goncalves and Daniela Teixeira whilst the opening scene was choreographed by Claudio Teixeira & Samishka.
The MC’s for the evening were current reigning King and Queen of the Sea, Marco do Carmo and Gabriella de Lima Nunes. Guests of honour at the pageant were Catarina Arruda, Consul General of Portugal in Cape Town, Ana Paula Costa and Norbeto, organisers of the Miss Portugal SA, Penny Randall and Steven Bentley from the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. The Judges for the evening were Lara Lourenco, Gabriela Neto & Penny Randall.

The show was an absolute success with everyone attending having had a wonderful time. It was wonderful to see the youth wanting to get involved in Portuguese community events.
