Everybody knows that having a tertiary education is important to succeed in life but these days the tuition can really blow a hole in your pocket.
Portugal however, has managed to make the top five list of cheapest places to get a university degree outside of England.
The research was conducted by HSBC which put the University of Lisbon in second place on the list. The university that took the number one spot was the University of Warsaw in Poland.
Warsaw’s annual tuition included; accommodation, cost of living, three return flights to the UK, and the cost of return travel to the nearest country. The University of Lisbon was only slightly more expensive charging 1500 Pounds more.
“As students begin to look at options for studying abroad for the 2015/2016 academic year, it is worth researching all the available grants and exchange rates, to give them a better idea about how they might manage their money at home and abroad”, said Oliver Cook, Head of foreign exchange at HSBC UK.
Other universities to make the list were, Bogaziçi Üniversitesi in Istanbul (Turkey), Freie Universitat in Berlin (Germany), and the University of Granada in Spain.
