Being the face of the Portuguese community has never been an easy task here in South Africa.
Fortunately, Miss Portugal SA, a beauty pageant which has been dormant for 14 years has resurrected itself in September last year. The competition aims to select beauty queen hopefuls from the Portuguese community in South Africa to take part in Miss Republica Portuguesa in Portugal.
The winner will then go on to represent the Portuguese community at an international level. They will also have their media needs catered for by getting decent television and press coverage.
One of these will be a feature in The Best of Portugal Magazine, which is an 80 page magazine with a circulation rate of 15 000 copies.
Contestants usually range between the ages of 16 and 26 years of age.
