Following all the accolades the Algarve has been getting for beautiful beaches and top resorts, Monte Rei golf course has been voted the best place for the sport in Portugal.
Monte Rei Golf & Country Club in Vila Nova de Cacela has been named Portugal’s Best Golf Club by leadingcourses.com, the “largest golf course review website in Europe”.
The club scored an impressive 9.15 out of 10 in the site’s annual Golfer’s Choice voting.
Around 350,000 golfers around Europe take part, ranking clubs according to the quality of their golf course, maintenance, infrastructures, services and hospitality, as well as their “value for money”.
“It is a great honour to be acknowledged as the best golf resort in Portugal and one of the best in Europe,” said Salvador Lucena, Monte Rei’s general manager.
“We are becoming more and more renowned on an international level, which shows in our increasing number of foreign clients. We provide a unique experience both for golf lovers and the general public,” he added.
