The only thing better than winning a game is winning it on home soil, that is exactly what Portugal did when they beat Tahiti in Espinho in a nail biting match in the finals of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
This is the first ever finals match that Portugal has won and they managed to keep a two goal gap between their opponents, finishing off with a 5-3 victory.
Flying the Portuguese team’s name high were the dynamic trio, Madjer, Belchior and Alan who all had a turn in putting the ball in the net.
Madjer wasted no time as he managed to score a goal in the tournament in just three seconds.
Just when the match was heading for a draw, Bruno Novo stepped in with a long-distance free-kick in the last 12 minutes. Alan then finished things off by putting one in the net in the final 48 seconds of the match, securing the team’s victory and their names in the history books.
