Airports all around Portugal are gearing up for a new plan of action which will aim at increasing the influx of people travelling through its gates.
ANA, Portugal’s airline management company revealed recently that an incentive programme is underway to reward airlines on increasing traffic, encouraging new roots and increasing the number of passenger’s onboard flights.
The incentive programme will be carried out by the end of the month and will involve airports such as Oporto, Faro, Ponto Delgada Horta, Santa Maria and Flores in Azores, Funchal and Porto Santo in Madeira. Lisbon’s airport has been excluded from the list.
ANA will be working closely with Turismo de Portugal, Portugal’s National Tourism Board on this project.
“The incentives programme rewards growth, mainly in the parts of the country that most need it,” said the State Secretary.
