Portugal’s minimalist flat

Sometimes when your space is limited in an apartment, it is always handy to know how to make use of the minimalistic area to its fullest extent.

That is exactly what José Andrade Rocha did when he remodelled his Lisbon flat in the  Mouraria neighbourhood.

By making use of sliding doors, he easily cuts one room off from another. The grey sliding doors seem to break the colour from the white walls.

“Using white allowed me to lighten up small interior spaces and at the same time respect the original colours of the carpentry and stucco work,” he said.

He even made use of a nook in the wall by turning it into a place to hold books.
