Remember when your mom always told you to eat your greens so that you will grow up nice and strong?
Well, it looks like Portuguese children are doing their mother’s proud with their food consumption by taking their advice.
According to a study which was conducted in Europe, Portuguese children eat more fruit than children in Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Holland and Romania. This goes without saying that they are also leading with regards to eating their vegetables.
The study, which was backed by the European Commission and the World Health Organisation, found that Portuguese children were consuming fruit on a daily basis.
Another aspect to the study found that, depending on the children’s socio-economic status, this would depend on the amount of fruit and vegetables they were consuming. Children from poorer families, tend to eat less fruit and vegetables
