Music is a powerful thing and nobody understands that better than Nuno Freire Malo, a Portuguese composer whose music has been nominated for a potential Oscar.
The score was composed for the feature film, No God, No Master, which was written and directed by Terry Green.
“To say that I’m proud of Nuno would be understating the way I feel about this achievement, given that Best Original Score is the only category for which the film is eligible. The movie received a limited theatrical release over the summer and has been garnering some nice reviews, but this announcement is special. In its own way, it validates the hard work that Nuno and many others put into the film and taking into account the hundreds of film scores that are submitted to the Academy for consideration every year, getting to this level is no small feat,” Green said on his website.
Nuno, along with 114 other candidates will have to wait until 15 January to find out the results.
