What would we do without the internet? In most societies, we practically rely on it for everything and cannot imagine life without it.
When we need information, we run to search engines such as Google to look for the answer. What about staying in touch? The internet is abuzz with internet users on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
So it comes as quite a surprise to find out that 49 percent of Portugal does not make use of the internet. That’s right, only a third of Portuguese make use of the internet on a daily or almost daily basis.
In fact, for this year, they rate the fifth highest for people who do not use the internet. Other countries who use the internet less than Portugal are: Romania (39 percent), Bulgaria (37 percent), Greece (33 percent) and Italy (32 percent).
