Talk about rising from the ashes, a Portuguese restaurant in Fall River did just that.
After it was burnt down to the ground two years ago, the owners decided to rebuild the restaurant to its former glory.
With a restaurant as popular as Sagres Restaurant was, the owner Victor Da Silva, thought it appropriate to have a formal opening. But instead, the restaurant went open silently earlier this week and it was booming with business immediately.
“It’s like almost welcoming a family member back. Everyone’s so happy to see it back open, some people actually cried out of happiness. That part you can’t describe. It’s priceless,” said Victor.
Before the fire, the building had three stories which housed apartments at the top; this is also where the fire started. Now, the new building only has two floors.
