Portuguese spend on average €9,000 a day on products to help them stop smoking. This is according to consultancy company IMS Health.
According to IMS Health last year Portugal spent over three million euros on products to help quit the habit, but that was still ten percent down on what was spent in 2014.
For this year’s No Tobacco Day the World Health Organisation has called upon countries to prepare to introduce plain packaging of tobacco products, and the inclusion of graphic health warnings.
