The Portuguese construction company, Lena in Leiria, will be doing great things in Venezuela as they have managed to win over a huge contract.
This includes building a city in Ocumare, consisting of 50 000 homes. The project aims to house 2 million of the poorest people in the country by the year, 2017.
Lena has managed to keep the homes affordable despite Venezuela’s price fluctuations. They have also set up two factories which will be responsible for the manufacturing of wall panels.
All other materiel used to build the homes are imported from Portugal and include metal structures, kitchens, window panels, aluminium frames and pipes.
