So, last night our very own beauty, Rolene Strauss was crowned Miss World in front of a billion international viewers.
Looking radiant as ever in her white gown, the fourth-year medical student showed what she had. Gracefully taking the crown from her predecessor, Megan Young from the Philippines, who also hosted the Miss World Pageant.
This year the Pageant took place at the Excel London ICC Auditorium in London.
With 124 countries participating in this year’s competition, it was no easy fete to come out tops. Categories that the international beauties had to take part in ranged from best media project to their very own Beauty with a Purpose projects.
Rolene Strauss was flanked by first princess, Edina Kulcsar, Hungary and second princess, Elizabeth Safrit, United States.
Being the first Miss World to come from South Africa in 40 years, Rolene, has surely done our country proud.
