St. Angelo Fort comes alive through light and sound

St. Angelo Fort, is a fort facing the Arabian Sea, situated 3 km from Kannur, a city in Kerala state, south India.

St. Angelo’s Fort was built in 1505 by Dom Francisco de Almeida, the first Portuguese Viceroy of India and is the first fortress of Portuguese in India on the Arabian sea coast.

This Monday that past saw the fort’s history come alive at the inaugural of the light and sound show. The multi-media laser projection and scanning along with lighting and 7.1 surround sound revived the history of the fort and the region with special effect.

“It’s a new experience to voice 500 years of history through my lead character, the Count of Fort St. Angelo,” said the actor on his Facebook page with a post on the trailer of the light and sound show. The trailer on his page has been watched by over 2.32 lakh people so far.

Though the show was formally inaugurated on Monday, the regular show will begin from the first week of April. The show is expected to draw crowds to the historic monument.

“The technical quality of the show is superb and the inaugural show ended without any glitches,” said DTPC secretary Saji Varghese.
