A scientist and photographer who originally hails from Venezuela managed to get in touch with his Portuguese roots through art.
With a series of photos Manuel Pita, also known as Sejkko, has been shooting of houses, he has entitled them “Lonely Houses”.
These are a number of houses found in Portugal which are free standing; this is how the series got its name.
Sejkko is derived from the Japanese word, seikko, which means “sincere child” or “the power of truth”. Living up to his name, Sejkko tries to portray this through his art.
“Today, I continue to search for that home I seem to have forgotten in the traditional houses of Portugal, where I live now. I capture them with my mobile phone, and edit them (also on my phone) to bring them as close as possible to the way my eyes see them,” Sejkko said.
If his phone is his camera and studio then you would be right in guessing that his Instagram account is his gallery.
