June might seem like an appropriate time to take out your umbrella, but in Portugal, the reason might be slightly different.
A tradition that has started in Agueda, will have life breathed in it again as hundreds of umbrellas will be on display, hanging from the sky.
The tradition was started by the production company, Sextafeira Producoes, and made popular through images taken by the photographer, Patricia Agitagueda.
Tourists are encouraged to bask in the striking scene of colourful umbrellas which canopy the street and shield those walking underneath it from the sun.
The colours used in the previous year have been dark but this year, spectators will notice that the colours of the umbrellas are lighter and will have small traces of purple and pink splashes
