Those of you who have the tiresome task of taking public transport on a regular basis might be pleased to know that high-powered diesel locomotives were unveiled in Cape Town.
According to Passenger Rail Agency of SA (PRASA), this is a project to modernize rail services. The locomotives, which were made in Spain, boast a display unit with various management systems. This allows the driver to detect or reset any faults that might occur.
The locomotives also have the ability to travel in both directions without having to turn around as it has two driving cabs.
These locomotives are meant to pull both freight and passenger coaches.
Mmm… One wonders with the new upgrade, if they will be on time too.
