In what was a tough away fixture over the weekend, Vasco da Gama lost 2-0 to Black Leopards in Limpopo in their National First Division tie.

With Kosta Papic as their new coach, Leopards ended their winless streak by defeating Vasco thanks to Roggert Nyundu and Leonard Ntshangase’s goals.

The result leaves Vasco struggling in 13th spot on the table with just 10 points from 11 games played.

Round 11 of the 2015/16 National First Division also saw Baroka FC reclaim top spot on the table thanks to the Limpopo side taking advantage of Cape Town All Stars’ slip-up and establish a one-point lead in pole position.

Baroka defeated Mother City side Milano United 1-0 at Athlone Stadium on Sunday, Baroka’s seventh win of the season.

Another of Vasco’s Cape rivals, Santos, managed to beat FC Cape Town 1-0 in a Mother City derby at NNK Rugby Stadium, with Suhayl Allie scoring the only goal in the derby clash.

And Cape Town All Stars, who came into the round as the league leaders, had to come from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw at home to an ever-improving Mbombela United.

The next round of matches – Round 12 of the NFD – will be played on the weekend of November 20-22, after the FIFA international break.
