Vasco da Gama will want to forget about the 2015/2016 National First Division (NFD) season quickly after they lost 1-0 to Black Leopards on the final day of the campaign.
The result sees Vasco end 13th on the 16-team table, not a position that they would have envisioned ahead of the campaign.
The other four Mother City teams all finished above Vasco on the table and if anything can be read into that then this off season is going to be a period in which some hard questions are asked of the management, technical team and players.
Against Leopards, a solitary goal from Ndamulelo Mugadi after 22 minutes was enough to secure Lidoda Duvha the win at Parow Park.
The focus right now for Vasco will be to try and build on some of the positives in a disappointing campaign. The club believes that there is a core group of young players from which to build a squad that can fix the problems of this season. Key to the new season will be the likes of Rafiq de Goede,
