Vasco da Gama end the year 2014 in position 8 on the National First Division log, seated precisely in the middle of the NFD table.
The Cape Town outfit ended the year in positive style, beating Maluti FET College 2-0 at Parow Park on the weekend.
The experienced Johnny Armogam and Mbulelo Wambi got the goals.
Vasco coach Tony de Nobrega shares some of his highs and lows of the season thus far.
“For me, it was important to end the season with a win, considering that we had gone seven games without a victory,” De Nobrega said.
“We have lost too many points through individual errors and this has been the big disappointment for us this season.
“But overall we are happy with our defence, which has developed nicely, but we are not scoring enough goals. So we are looking around and we hope to see what is available in the transfer window, but it is not easy to find quality in January.”
While Vasco are in position 8 with 22 points from 16 games, log leaders Jomo Cosmos have 32 points from the same number of games, indicating how tight the NFD competition is this season.
