Vasco go down to Birds

Vasco da Gama could not keep their good run of form going in the National First Division after they went down 3-1 to Moroka Swallows on the weekend.

Prior to their loss in Germiston over the weekend, Vasco had drawn with Witbank Spurs and beaten Baroka FC to move out of the relegation zone.

Swallows’ goals came from Msekeli Mvalo, Khotso Malope and Felix Obada, while Omaatla Kebatho scored for the Cape team.

For struggling Moroka Swallows, the 3-1 home win over Vasco was just what the doctor ordered, but unfortunately for the once famous club, fellow relegation candidates African Warriors and Mthatha Bucks also claimed wins, overcoming Santos (3-0 at home) and Cape Town All Stars (1-0 at home) respectively.

Vasco’s remaining fixtures:

vs Royal Eagles (h) on 7 May

vs Milano (a) on 15 May

vs Black Leopards (h) on 22 May
