Vasco go down to Leopards

Black Leopards scored a valuable 1-0 victory over Vasco da Gama in the National First Division over the weekend.

Leopards edged Parow-based Vasco 1-0 at home and the result moved them to within four points of the top four.

The loss, however, leaves Vasco in 9th position with 28 points from 21 games.

In other weekend NFD games, FC Cape Town played out to a 2-2 draw at home to Witbank Spurs.

Golden Arrows reclaimed their place at the top of the log standings when they beat Jomo Cosmos 3-1 at Chatsworth on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Prince Nxumalo, Andile Fikizolo and Deon Hotto sealed the win for ex-Vasco player Shaun Bartlett’s side, which now enjoys a two-point lead over second-placed Ezenkosi.
