Vasco da Gama have dropped to position six on the National First Division log after a disappointing 4-0 loss away at Jomo Cosmos.
Vasco now have 15 points from 10 matches played and will have an opportunity to work on their game during the international break this week and next, before their next NFD game on November 23.
The Cape Town club will host Garankuwa United on Sunday afternoon at Parow Park.
Jomo Cosmos’ victory saw them climb to fourth place on the log after Brice Aka scored a brace with Charlton Mashumba and Wiseman Maluleke each grabbed one.
Vasco forward Johnny Armogam said: “We were world class in the first half, but conceded a goal early in second half, and then a second goal and after that we were always chasing the game.
“I think we have started many games really well and our first half is often better than how we finish. If we can turn this around we will improve our results.
“If anyone had seen how we played in the first half against Cosmos and left the stadium at the break, they would never have believed we lost the game 4-0. We were that good in the opening half.”
The NFD will resume on the weekend of November 21-23. The focus for this weekend and next week Wednesday are South Africa’s Africa Nations Cup Qualifiers against Sudan at home and Nigeria away.
