Wits sign Portuguese Striker Joaquim Lupeta
Bidvest Wits have announced the signing of Joaquim Lupeta, a Portuguese forward who came through the FC Porto youth academy and played for Vitoria Setubal and the U18 Portugal International side.
A statement from the club read, “Bidvest Wits is pleased to announce the signing of Portuguese striker Joaquim Lupeta.
Lupeta is a former U18 Portuguese international having last played for Portuguese premier league club V. Setubal.  He was also at the world renowned FC Porto Academy where he played youth football for six years.
Lupeta is 22 years old and was born in Portugal, although he is of Congolese descent, his parents having been born in the former Republic of Zaire.“We are excited to have Lupeta join the Bidvest Wits family, and wish him a successful career at our club.”

Lupeta has already committed to scoring goals and helping his new team win trophies this season.

He told Soccer Laduma: “I can take on defenders and score goals. That’s how my game is. I am also a team player and I hope I can score goals which will help us win things.

“I want to win trophies with the team and I am happy that I am here,” Lupeta said.
